Site EHS Coordinator, Chengdu

Here is seeking a full-time on-site EHS coordinator for a new automobile manufacturing plant in Chengdu, China. This position will initially be a contract position. Depending on job performance, there will be opportunities to become a permanent, full-time EHS coordinator at this location as an employee of the manufacturer.

·                     Full responsibility for assigned project & studies including, tender preparation, contract negotiation, project management, design management, procurement & construction management

·                     Management of project team

·                     Management of design & construction to international standards for environmental and energy management

·                     Change control

·                     Supervision of detail design packages carried out by design institutes

·                     Liaison with clients, project team, suppliers (domestic & foreign) & subcontractors

·                     Chinese citizen

·                     Bachelor degree in a relevant engineering discipline

·                     At least 10 years working experience. Experience desired includes project manager, employment in a design institute, and work for multinational brand companies

·                     Background in automobile manufacturing

·                     Understanding of EIA and other environmental permitting requirements, government approvals & environmental management system development.

·                     Particular strengths in design engineering management, planning, HSE management, and sub-contractor coordination

·                     In depth understanding of western design & construction safety standards would be an advantage 

·                     Computer skills: Microsoft packages, etc

·                     Language skills: fluent English & Chinese both in written & verbal
