Job Description – Environmental Manager (EHS)

This is one of the leading companies in producing, developing and selling the full range of fatty amines and specialty amines. The company belongs to a Fortune 500 Group, is located in Zhangjiagang city, Jiangsu province, China, which is about 110 km from Shanghai and employs about 650 people. Operating for over 35 years, the company’s core competency is their extensive know-how in Alkyl Nitrogen field, such as Alkyl Amine and their derivatives. One more, they are willing to assist their customers in the co-development of special products from customers' applications.

Position: Environmental Manager (EHS)
Report to: HSE Director
Subordinate: about 10

Job Responsibilities:
Set up environmental policy, objective and target for site
Implement and maintain EMS (part of RCMS), make it alive
Train and coach environmental staffs.
Legislation identification and evaluation, ensure company complies to all environmental regulations according to related laws
Involve environmental related permitting work.
Environmental Aspects and impacts identification and ranking
Develop environmental related procedures to control environmental risks
Develop environmental emergency response plan for site
Conduct environmental checks, and investigate accidents/incidents and make solutions and preventive proposals.
Provide support for the project which may have environmental impact
Involve MOC process to make sure all changes meet environmental requirement.
Active monitor site environmental performance
Work closely with local EPB to improve site environmental performance
Manage over all environmental improvement projects
Evaluate and select waste disposal supplier.
Work closely with operation team to reduce waste.

Desired profile of the candidate
Education:
Bachelor degree or above (Major: Environmental or chemical engineering related)
Languages:
Fluent language in spoken and written English and Mandarin.

Professional experience:
More than 5 years environmental working experience, chemical industry background is preferred.
At least one year management experience (take leader role)
Familiar with environmental permitting requirements, either operation or project stage.
Familiar with ISO14001 / RC system,
Fluent English
Good initiative
Must have sufficiently skills of interpersonal communication, presentation, and negotiation in order to be able to convince people at all levels
Good team work player
Good people management and communication skills.
