1.Show leadership in all areas of EHS by influencing, supporting and challenging Line Management in the prioritisation and deployment of EHS requirements.

2.Monitor leadership engagement and give clear and transparent feedback.

3.Communicate EHS requirements with passion and conviction.

4.Is visible and approachable within the workplace, and coach others on how to demonstrate required EHS behaviors. Challenge undesirable behaviours, and consistently sends a message that safety is a core value.

5.Assist Plant Management in defining the required safety culture for the site. 

6.Actively participate in Sector EHS discussions. Be willing to share best practices and promote standardization across the sector. 

7.Develop and mentor direct and indirect reports within the position’s scope of responsibility.

8.Promote 2-way dialog amongst the workforce, while providing feedback on all relevant situations

9.Build organisational capability through identifying gaps in the EHS organisation, ensuring specialist EHS skills are identified and in place, and coaching and mentoring current/future EHS professionals.

 

1.Identify applicable EHS legislation and advise management on compliance.

2.Advise and assist Plant Management in compliance with JM Group EHS requirements including Policies, 

guidance, standards and EHS reporting requirements.

3.Ensure Life Saving Policies are understood, training delivered, and compliance monitored. 

4.Ensure that Group and Sector EHS initiatives are adequately deployed across the site

5.Ensure the EHS arrangements in place to meet legal and JM requirements are internally audited, actions agreed and completion tacked.

6.Implement occupational health exposure monitoring and advise on control strategies to achieve agreed exposure limits.

7.Liaise with external parties on compliance with legal permits and other requirements.

 8.Ensure all emergency evacuation plans and procedures are robust, executed and continuously improved.

1.Establish standardized EHS systems and processes that are consistent with Group, Sector & Region direction and initiatives.

2.Develop and maintain EHS Management systems (certified where required)

3.Assist in Accident investigations, ensuring appropriate root cause analysis is carried out and improvement actions recorded. 

4.Ensure the site has a clear EHS Annual Improvement Plan based on analysis of lagging and leading indicators, audit findings, groups and sector EHS targets/objectives. 

5.Promote the use of leading indicators such as Learning Events and Safety Observation Conversations. Track participation in Leading activities and report performance to management. 

 6.Ensure risk assessment processes for all activities and EHS is fully considered in management of change processes on site. 

7.Ensure Environmental aspect and impact analysis has been carried out with significant impacts identified and control measures agreed.

1.Provide technical advice on all areas of EHS, liaising with Group and external specialists where relevant. 

2.Identify EHS Training needs. Coordinate training with providers and deliver training personally where required. 

3.Analyze leading and lagging performance ensuring leading activities are focused on areas of concern. 

4.Able to track and trend incidents and issues at the site to ensure clear, data driven focus for value added activities.

5.Ensure processes are in place to report all required EHS Enablon data and ensure end of month deadlines are met. 

6.Ensure all HPLE and recordable events are closed down within Enablon within 28 days of each event.

7.Provide support & technical guidance to the Plant in the handling, storage and shipping hazardous waste. 

8.Ensure inspection and preventative maintenance programmes are in place for all critical Safety.

9.Ensure all Process Safety requirements are understood and deployed working with the Site Process Safety Champion as well as Regional and Group Process Safety specialists. 

10.Manage all aspects of EHS Budget.

1.Bachelor Degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or Environmental Engineering or similar such as chemical or chemical engineering .Certified Safety Engineer.

2.Above 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in automotive and /or Chemical companies in positions related to occupational safety, industrial hygiene, or environmental experience.

3.Significant experience in building and maintaining positive relationships internally and externally to the organisation.

4.Working knowledge of the applicable international, national & local Standards and legislation is required.

5.International experience in leading manufacturing environment.

6.Good English skills.
